Explain CIA Triad of Computer Security

CIA Triad

The CIA triad is a model for understanding and evaluating the security of a computer system. It stands for Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability.

▶ Confidentiality refers to the protection of sensitive information from unauthorized access. This means that only authorized users should be able to view or access the information.

▶ Integrity refers to the protection of the accuracy and completeness of information. This means that the information cannot be modified by unauthorized users, and any changes made to the information must be done in a way that is detectable and traceable.

▶ Availability refers to the ability of authorized users to access the information when they need it. This means that the system and its resources must be available for use when needed.

Together, these three aspects of security form the basis for protecting the information and resources of a computer system.
